Federal Student Loan Program Disclosure
Palo Verde College Financial Aid Office
In compliance with the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, and federal Title IV regulations governing consumer information disclosures (34 CFR §§ 668.41 and 668.42), Palo Verde College provides the following notice regarding federal student loan programs:
Palo Verde College does not participate in any federal student loan programs, including the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program authorized under Title IV, Part D of the Higher Education Act (34 CFR Part 685). As a result, students enrolled at Palo Verde College are not eligible to receive federal student loans through the institution.
Pursuant to 34 CFR § 668.41(d), which requires institutions to disclose the availability and terms of financial assistance programs, Palo Verde College confirms that it offers other forms of financial aid to eligible students. These may include:
- Federal Pell Grants
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), if available
- California state grants (e.g., Cal Grant, subject to eligibility)
- Scholarships and institutional aid
- Federal Work-Study opportunities, if available
Palo Verde College does not participate in any private (non-federal) educational loans. Students are encouraged to carefully consider all available financial aid options and to avoid unnecessary borrowing. Individuals who wish to pursue private (non-federal) educational loans should thoroughly review lender terms and conditions, including interest rates, repayment obligations, and borrower protections, as these loans are not regulated under Title IV federal student aid programs.
