Admission:
Eligibility for enrollment is first priorities are CPS children or children who are
identified by a legal, medical social services agency or emergency shelter as a recipient
of protective services or being neglects, abused or exploited, or at risk of neglect,
abuse or exploitation. After that we determine needs by the parents being engaged
in vocational training leading directly to a recognized trade, Para- profession or
profession; parents being employed or seeking employment or seeking permanent housing
for family stability or incapacitation. Child development services are non-discriminatory,
giving equal treatment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin,
or ancestry. The program welcomes the enrollment of children with disabilities. The
program understands the requirements of the American With Disabilities act (ADA) to
make reasonable accommodations for such children and implements those accommodations.
Curriculum:
The teachers in the Center follow a curriculum that is developmentally, culturally
and linguistically appropriate for children served. Our daily schedule consists of
both structured and unstructured time that is developmentally appropriate for the
age level of the child.
The Activities Include:
The program activities include cognitive activities, Language activities, dramatization,
mathematical concepts, social studies, science, health, safety, art and music.
Meals:
The Center provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. The Center is committed
to serving the children nutritious, natural, and whole foods according to State guidelines.
This service is available through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) offered
by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and serves meals at no charge to all
enrolled children. In accordance with Federal Law and U.S. Department of Agriculture

Staff:
The Center is served by a staff comprised of a Director/Site Supervisor, Teachers,
Associate Teachers, Cook, College Work-Study Students and Volunteers.
Program Statement:
In 1975, the Palo Verde College established the Child Development Center to provide
reliable, quality child care for children while their parents attend college, are
in training or work. Our mission is to provide a learning environment that supports
children to develop skills necessary to construct their own knowledge and prepare
them for their next school environment.
