Accessibility Resources Center (Formerly DSPS)
What is ARC (Formerly DSPS)?
The Accessibility Resources Center (ARC), formerly known as DSPS, is a categorically funded program designed to support students with physical, psychological, or learning disabilities. ARC provides services and accommodations that help students reduce the impact of functional limitations and fully participate in the college experience.
The program emphasizes independence, self-advocacy, and equal access, while offering the support necessary for students to achieve their academic goals.
Who Qualifies for ARC (Formerly DSPS)?
ARC is open to any student who has a verifiable disability- temporary or permanent-that results in one or more educational limitations, consistent with eligibility requirements defined in the Title 5 Regulations and DSPS guidelines.
Conditions that may qualify a student include, but are not limited to:
- Mobility impairment
- Blindness and other visual impairments
- Deaf and hard of hearing
- Acquired brain injuries, including stroke
- Seizure disorders
- Cancer
- AIDS/HIV
- Coronary problems
- Kidney disease
- Asthma
- Psychological diagnoses
- Learning disabilities
- Developmental disabilities
Services
Funds are used to provide a wide range of services including, but not limited to:
- Peer Counseling
- Priority Registration
- Test Taking Accommodations/ Proctoring
- Campus-Community Liaison
- Note Takers
- Academic/Specialized Counseling
- On-Campus Transportation
- Adaptive Equipment, Assistive Technology & Alternate Media
- Tape Recorders
- Mobility Assistance
- Auxiliary Aid

How to Enroll
To enroll, call the ARC (Formerly DSPS) office at (760) 921-5489 and talk to Christina Felix or visit the office in person to schedule an appointment with an ARC counselor.
Students may enroll at any time during the semester.
